Leawo Total Media Converter Ultimate is a powerful and feature-rich multimedia converter that offers a large variety of functions and options. It is much more than just a simple video converter as it includes numerous additional capabilities, such as support for ripping and burning DVDs or for downloading YouTube videos.
This video converter supports loading and converting to a large variety of video file formats, making it possible to convert videos to the formats supported by your portable device (iPod, iPhone, PSP, PS3, iPad, Zune, etc.). Though it comes with predefined conversion profiles, it also allows you to customize the parameters of the output file in every detail: bit rate, frame rate, aspect ratio, etc. It also provides a simple yet handy video editor that lets you crop, trim or adjust the colors of the loaded video before converting it. Watermarking the videos is also possible.
This powerful application can also rip and convert protected DVDs and blu-ray discs, being able to bypass disc encryption algorithms such as CSS or AACS. Furthermore, it includes a comprehensive and effective DVD creating tool that doesn’t only let you burn DVDs, but also customize their menus.
Though it’s a powerful and complex tool, its interface is neat and straightforward. The only thing I dislike about this tool is the video downloading feature as it is a bit too intricate to my taste. It is included in the “Leawo Free Video Accelerator” tool but I haven’t managed to make it properly work. The built-in browser of this embedded utility simply failed to load the provided websites, including YouTube. I would have preferred a simple, stand-alone utility that just takes provided YouTube URLs and grabs the video from them.
To sum it all up, I’d say that Leawo Total Media Converter Ultimate offers enough to justify its rather high price.
